About Us

Welcome to Little Stars!

Little Stars Childcare is a newly refurbished, independently owned and operated Early Childhood Service opening in early 2020. Our vision was to create a service that represents the needs and values of the local community and the families that live within Tamworth and surrounding areas.

Catering for children aged from 6 weeks through to 5 years we aspire to provide all children with the best possible start in life.

Open from 7.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, our service aims to support the needs of all families who utilise our centre. The centre is closed on public holidays.

Our passionate and experienced team are dedicated to providing quality education. We strive to create a Centre that exceeds standards by engaging in high quality practices. We take the responsibility of caring and educating young children very seriously. Most importantly, we understand the huge faith and trust you put in us when leaving your children at our service.

Our Philosophy

At Little Stars Childcare we understand how unique each child is. Consequently, we know the impact that the first five years can have on a child’s emotional, cognitive, physical, social and personal development.

We believe every child is entitled to be provided a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Likewise, that it also allows them to be stimulated, educated and have fun. Our aim is to equip every child in our centre with the tools they need to help them succeed in all aspects of their lives. Thereby complementing the work done at home and continue that education and support throughout the day. We encourage children to embark on a journey of self-discovery, allowing them to learn how to problem solve. They then develop skills such as effective communication, expressing to others their feelings and emotions and any wants, needs, thoughts and ideas.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which our centre stands and the diverse community that surrounds us. With such a diverse community, we ensure children have equal opportunity to learn in a respectful environment regardless of gender, race, ability, economic status, family structure, lifestyle, culture, language or religious belief. We strive to provide a highly positive environment where all staff, children and families are made to feel welcome, included and respected.

Our programs are designed to lay the foundations for a child’s future learning and well-being. We achieve this using the principles that underpin the Early Years Learning Framework, National Law Act and National Regulations. We are committed to working within the National Quality Standards and implementation of our quality improvement plan. Consequently, we are constantly striving for exceeding practices to be embedded.

Caring for the environment including incorporating sustainable practices is an important part of our philosophy. We aim to embed this into our daily routines and practices. As a result, we are ensuring we are educating the children to become socially responsible, show respect for their environment and develop an understanding of our valuable natural resources.

We encourage events and experiences shared with families and the community and understand the vital roles families play as children’s first teachers. We encourage and seek family and community feedback and contribution to our program. This builds strong reciprocal partnerships to support the children. To achieve this, Little Stars has an open door policy, where families are welcomed any time, for as long as they need.

We are a privately-owned family run centre and are committed to the children, families and our team member’s best interests. The centre benefits from having a strong and committed management team. We support the staff to ensure they have everything they need to do the most important job, the education and care of the children.
