FAQ

General Questions

How do I enrol?
An expression of interest form is to be completed using our online form or by contacting the centre directly. We will then arrange a suitable time for you to come into the centre for a tour. This is where our Nominated Supervisor will show you around our facilities and you can meet our amazing team. Should you like what you see, we will provide you with an application form and are happy to assist you through the application process and answer any questions you may have. In the instance that there may be a waitlist, we will explain the waitlist process and communicate with you regularly about your individual situation.
Do I have to enrol for a minimum number of days?
There is no minimum requirement, however we do suggest enrolling for a minimum of 2 days a week to allow your child to easily settle into their new environment. We believe that any less than 2 days can be unsettling for your child and we find children settle in to the centre easier when attending more than one day a week. These days do not have to be consecutive and you may choose the days that suit you as long as they are available. Casual days may be requested and are based on availability.
What is your fee structure?
Fees are dependent on the age of your child and are charged weekly. We are a government-approved childcare service covered by the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), so depending on your circumstances, a percentage of your fee may be subsidised.
Can I get the Government Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?
Little Stars is an approved child care provider, so provided you are entitled to receive the Child Care Subsidy, the payment will come directly from the Government to our centre, therefore reducing the fees you pay. Please see https://www.education.gov.au/child-care-subsidy-1 for more details on the CCS scheme or contact Centrelink.
Are there any other costs involved?
A one-time non-refundable administration fee of $25 is charged at the time of enrolment.
How do I pay fees and other charges?
We recommend utilising our direct debit system to take the hassle out of having to remember to pay each week. Cash payments are not permitted and no cash will be stored on the premises at any time.
Do you offer alternative foods if my child has an allergy or intolerance?
Our menu is based on current Government guidelines and should a child have allergies and/or intolerances, alternatives can be arranged. While we respect each child’s individuality, we cannot cater for menu items that are simply disliked. Arrangements from home may need to be made in these situations.
What do you provide?
We provide balanced meals and snacks (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea), nappies, sunscreen and wipes.
Does my child need to be immunised for me to receive the childcare subsidy?
Your child must meet immunisation requirements set by the Australian Government. Information on your child’s vaccine records are available from the Australian Immunisation Register.
Can I tour the centre?
Tours of Little Stars Childcare are available by contacting the centre to arrange the best time for an inspection.
